There is a new approach to buying legal services and the new way forward is the mission

of the Buying Legal® Council.

For our 2020 Legal Procurement conferences in London in June (EMEA) and in New York in July (Americas), we are preparing something we think is truly unique and useful: The conferences will showcase solutions for buyers' most pressing business challenges.

How does it work?

We recently asked buyers about their most pressing business challenges.

Buyers' top 2020 business challenges:

In the EMEA region, they are:

    • Cost management
    • eBilling & advanced analytics
    • Automation of work/new technology
    • Efficiency and productivity

In the Americas region, they are:

    • Cost management
    • AFA benchmarking
    • Innovation/staying innovative
    • Data protection

For each of these business challenges, we want to hear inspiring, innovative, interesting solutions from suppliers (that can be law firms, law companies, legal process outsourcing companies, ancillary legal services providers, consultants, legal tech companies etc.)

To get these solutions, we are first looking for interesting and challenging business scenarios! This is where you come in: We need realistic (but fictional or fictionalized) business scenarios for which the providers will pitch their solutions. The scenarios should take the buyer's point of view.

Think Shark Tank/Dragon's Den meets Supplier Day: We are looking for innovative solutions, continuous improvement, new knowledge and insights in different areas.

How do I participate?

First, select a business challenge. Then, describe the business scenario you believe many buyers of legal services can relate to and are looking for a business solution. The word limit is 200-500 words. Be creative, bring the situation to life! (Think Harvard Business School case study introductions, situation summary, facts, issues, and questions.)

Please click here to submit your business scenario suggestion.

Who can participate in the business scenario competition?

Anyone can participate. Legal procurement professionals, legal ops managers, in-house counsel, law firms, law companies, legal process outsourcing companies, ancillary legal services providers, consultants, legal tech companies etc.

Can I submit more than one scenario?

Yes, but only one category per submission form, please. If you would like to register for more than one category, please fill in a separate form.

What is the deadline for submissions?

Deadline for submission: December 4, 2019. No extensions, no exceptions.

Does it cost something to participate?

What is the prize for the winner?

If your business scenario was chosen, you will win a free ticket for one of our conferences (you can select either London or New York) and we will work with you on the final version of your business scenario.

Please note: The judges’ decision is final. No purchase is necessary to enter or win.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Please email Doria Thompson-Delgado.

If you are interested in sponsoring our EMEA or Americas conference, please email Silvia Hodges Silverstein.
